Event concept

Agile on the Beach is an annual conference led by UK's leading thinkers, which stimulates  creative and technical thinking.

This two days event creates a platform for over 300 interested and like-minded individuals to come together, network and acquire skills from one another.

Numerous workshops are held simultaneously, followed by a beach party to end off the event.

Responsibilities

Working alongside the event co-ordinator, I facilitated the pre-event operations such as the setup of props in each work space. There were signages, beach benches, prepping of the delegates pack and arranging them.

During the event I operated as a marshal, directing and providing assistance to guests. I established communication with all the delegates in my work space, ensuring that they have a smooth delivery. After each workshop, the space was to be tidied in preparation for the next session.

Interactions were made between a couple of the delegates, who also expressed gratitude for keeping things in check.

This was an eye-opening experience as it was my first time working in a conference event. It was interesting to see how it was being run and the amount of prepation done before the event. Whova, an event app, was introduced, allowing delegates and staff to interact and keep in contact with one another. I felt that this was a really useful app which could be used in future events.
