Event concept
A yearly themed lantern possession parade handmade and carried by the local community group, school students and professionals through Truro town.
This includes the official switch on of Truro's Christmas lights, coupled with music and dance performances by local bands.
Responsibilities
Before the event commenced, I was handed a donation can to collect funds from the crowd. My principal duty was crowd control, and ensure that the event went smoothly.
Near the end of the event, there was an incident that occured where the public were climbing over barriers to attempt to leave the location as it was jam-packed with people. In my opinion, for future events I felt that the event organisers might have to rethink the location or increase the space for people to stand about freely.
