Event info
Location: Falmouth University, UK
Role: Creative Director / Marketing
Type of event: Entertainment
Date: 14 January 2015
Event concept
The event takes after the concept of an abandoned shop where teams of 2-5 people have to complete the mission of saving their trapped teammate, using nerf guns as a form of defence and retrieve ‘the cure’ within 10 minutes.
Zombies can be eliminated, however they are allowed to revive every minute after being shot.
The team with the fastest timing will emerge victorious
Responsibilities
As one of the four directors in the team, I was part of executing the process to delivery of the event.
During the pre-event process I was responsible for all marketing segments which included:
-
social media
-
promotional print advertising
-
word of mouth
-
market research.
A budget breakdown was also drawn up.
During the event I facilitated the setup, in-game delivery and closure of all operations.
This was my first ever self-organised event and it was truly an experience. I learnt the fundamental elements required to host an event. It is essential to maintain a constant and good communication with my teammates and external suppliers to keep everyone updated.
Several difficulties were faced during the process, however they were resolved together as a team which helped bond the group.
