Event concept
Kaleidoscope is a night of prism vision, illusions and kaleidoscopic inspired décor with music running through the night.
UV paint was kept as a secret till the event day to retain the element of surprise.
It is a non-profit charity event, where all proceeds are given to Aid Conservation through Education (ACE), a locally based charity who build schools and help children in Uganda have an education.
Being one of the directors in the team, I was part of executing the process to delivery of the event.
I was responsible for health and safety, whereby a risk assessment was drawn up. Working alongside my teammate, we advertised through print and visual platforms such as posters, flyers and drawing with chalks on the stairways.
Constant communication and updates were made with our client, The Watermans. Resources were sourced online intensively, to clinch the best deal.
On the day of the event I facilitated the setup and closure of all operations. During the event, I was paying close attention should any technical or setbacks arise.
Being the 2nd event that I'd organised, it was easier to manage as everyone had the basic knowledge of hosting an event. However there were some forms of miscommunication with the technicians, and they could not provide us with our required equipment for the event later that day. The issue was resolved after one of my teammate's friends agreed to help us out by lending us his own equipment.
